Q: Will martial arts make my child agressive?
”No, actually, martial arts makes kids calmer and more respectful than ever. Martial arts always has always been about respect.
Q: Can my child get hurt training in martial arts?
“As a parent, I'm sure you've seen that kids can get injured doing just about anything. Martial arts is no different, however we take safety very seriously here. Yes, injuries do sometimes happen. But we do everything in our power to avoid them.”
Q: My child has never played any other sports before and is not physically fit. Can they still learn Martial Arts?
”Yes, in fact, martial arts is often perfect for kids who don't excel at team sports. Kids who have trouble in baseball, basketball, etc. often come to martial arts and do extremely well. And it's okay if your child is not in shape right now. Through our classes, they'll get in great shape and become athletic.”
Q: Are martial arts classes fun?
”Yes, Martial Arts by nature is fun with all the punches and kicks. Plus, we do a variety of drills that fun but develop real martial arts skills and we use fun games and activities to build reflexes and coordination that have kids laughing, and constantly smiling. We work hard here - but we play hard too.
Q: What's a good age for a child to start martial arts?
”Honestly, practically every age is a good age to start! However, we start children as young as 4 years old, as well as teenagers. So no matter where your child’s age - we've got you covered. By the way we offer family classes too where your whole family can train together.”
Q: Is martial arts just for boys or can girls learn too?
”Martial arts are for boys and girls. Our classes have a good mix of both. So if you're worried about your girl being alone in a group of boys, wipe that worry from your mind!”
Q: I am out of shape…Can I Still Do Muay Thai?
”Our Basic Muay Thai classes are designed for beginners to learn the fundamentals of Muay Thai while getting in great shape.”
Q: I have an old injury…Can I still train in Muay Thai?
”If you have an old injury that you are concerned about, all we ask is that you speak to your doctor first. Let us know what your doctor says - and we always say use common sense when training, if there's any kind of exercise you feel you should avoid then let us know.”
Q: I have never trained in Muay Thai before…will I get hurt?
”Though we can’t guarantee you won’t get hurt because accidents do happen. You are more likely to get hurt playing softball. All of our classes are taught in a progressive step by step manner in safe environment so beginners can learn Muay Thai.”
Q: What's a Muay Thai Class Like?
”First, it’s a ton of fun to learn, plus its a great way to relieve stress! All classes start off with a light warm up followed by basics, partner work and bag work. As you progress you will also hit the thai pads and focus mitts!”
Q: Do I have to Spar?
”No, we do NOT allow beginners to spar right away. You will start off with simple back and forth defense and counter drills. This will build your confidence and composure. However, as your skills improve sparring is a very important part of your learning…but even then we have a step by step system for teaching sparring so anyone can learn!”
Q: I have no interest in fighting in the ring…Can I still learn Muay Thai?
”Yes, 98% of our students have no interest in fighting in the ring. They are here to learn Muay Thai, get in shape and learn self defense.”
Q: Do you train people to fight?
”Like I said most of our students have no interest in fighting but if fighting is something you are interested in then we can definitely help get you ready.”
